i put everything in order and when i turned on the raspberrypi, i only get a blank page with only red power led. if theres a problem with the card and image, what should i do? or is there any explanation to my rpoblem?
Are you sure you are running a 64 bits system? win32diskimager.exe is a 32 bits apps and does not run.
I found a way: simply format the SD card, unzip raspbian package, copy it on the SD card.
When booting, the raspberry pi let you choose the operating system you wish to install.
After win32diskimager is done I put my sdCard in Rpi and connected power and hdmi cable but nothing happens to display, and red and green led blink one after another then stops for few seconds then again blink one after another but no display after waiting for 10-15 mins. Kindly help me ! Thank you.
Win32diskimager latest version 1.0 downloaded and installs just fine. However when launching the executable it never comes up. No splash screen no nothing. Not sure where to look for it. I have several USB and SD cards plugged in. I can write a file just fine using the etcher program so I know my PC can see and write the retropi images just fine with that but love all the features of this program.
First, do you have any drive letters assigned to network shares , ramdisks, or using the ASSIGN to reassign a folder to a drive letter? This appears to be a common issue that I am looking into. If that is the case, I already have several bug reports both here and on Sourceforge.
Ok I do indeed have a ramdrive running. I have disable the drive and the software now comes up. Thanks for the heads up. I am using softperfect RAM disk the full purchased version. I now at least can disable it when I want to use win32diskimager. Let me know if you need me to test anything out happy to help but also understand this is your spare time thing so no pressure from me. However thank you for your response, Big thank you for your product, Cheers mate.
I root caused this to a race condition and have uploaded code to the git tree to work around it. This may not be the final solution, but at least I can add this to my testing. This will be fixed in the next release.
I realize this is almost 3 years old, but I have had similar issues on Windows 10 and wanted to include a comment in case it helps anyone. In my case, it was mounted Veracrypt drives causing win32diskimager to fail to start. Unmount them, and it opens up immediately.
I know that this forum is about manjaro so thats why i came here, I have made a raspberry pi os and i wanna take the hard drive and make a image out of it but when i use gnome disk utility it wants to make a image of even the unallocated sections of the hard drive, what software would i use to make a image of the allocated partitions only on manjaro? i know that win32diskimager will do it but i dont have access to a windows computer. Any help will be appreciated
