I'm using LT 2015 64 bits in French and I would like to switch my version to the english version. Installing the language pack was not the solution because the commands introduced with the keyboards are still in french. So I guess I have to uninstall the French version and then install the Eng version. Is my actual serial n usable when I will be reinstalling the product in english ? Best regards, Nicolas Parent.
Hi, Thank you Alfred and John for your answers and for your good care (regarding my serial n). I already installed the english language pack. The bars, menus... are indead in english now but the commands line (and keyboards shorcuts) are still in french. For exemple: when I try to remove something when using the stretch function, I have to use the "S" key for "Supprimer" and not "R" for "Remove". Best regards, Nicolas
i really would like to meet the genius who decided to translate commands for every language version. That person is probably singlehandedly responsible for uncountable wasted man-hours. I know, i've spent at least several hours of my life trying to find command translations between different languages after finding a solution for something in English. We might've already been colonising Mars b then if it weren't for him.
Have you tried using an English PGP on a French machine? If the PGP does not allow underscores, maybe it runs the English command automatically. I can't test it but it is worth trying before moving over to Lisp.
@charrierep I did this exact thing before. Just modifiy the most used commands in your french pgp to match those of your english pgp. S for Etirer, M for Deplacer... So on and so forth. Don't need to modify the whole pgp, only useful commands, like 30-40 of them approx.
@dany_rochefort What you are suggesting is to configure a PGP for French AutoCAD, but I don't want it to be compatible with French only, I want my aliases to work with both English and French AutoCAD.
My specific case is that that the default table cell style name of "Data" is "Donnes" when the french language interface is active in the current Autocad session. I would like the following table setting function not return an automation error:
Anyway, as for commands and standard "answers" (Yes, No, Previous, Last, etc, etc.) this isn't needed. Just add a _ to the English/standard text and it will tell acad to use/accept the international versions.
Thanks, this solution would work best for identifying the current interface language when deciding how to respond to users that aren't bilingual. In my case, the best solution would be the simplest, that is to prefix the cell style with an underscore as suggested by roland.r71
I had autocad 2018 before and it was the same. if i work with revit or inventor, everything is fine. But when i open autocad it change the keyboard. I have to restart the computer to get it back as wanted.
I tried to uninstall autocad and the language pack and reinstall it, with the same result.
Problem :- French language characters are displayed as ? in AutoCAD if we double click on that block(Enhance Attribute Editor) then we can see the french language characters properly however they are displayed as ? in AutoCAD 2015.
2.After some investigation and trial and error I come to know in Text Style dialog box(Format->Text Style) if we change Font Name field of Text Style to point at ROMANCE.SHX then these french language characters will get properly displayed.
I cant just change the style for all fonts to romanc.shx as I come to know changing font name to romanc.shx displays french characters correctly however it disturbs the allignment(eg. template attributes overlaps) and it will take lot of manual work to do that allignment.
i know maybe its weird; but im looking for a way that helps me to type all the commands in autocad JUST in english language.... i mean that even when windows language is non-english, i would like to use commands always and only in english and stop changing system language( shift+alt) all the time..!
before developing the machine, the french-duo experimented by attaching a tattoo gun to a 3D printer in 2014. the artists created their latest robotic arm during their four-month artist-in-residence program at san francisco-based software company autodesk. the program allows artists to own everything they create, but requires them to share their technology on an open source platform.
