Internal Server Error - scalr-12092011-r5916

I get an "Internal Server Error" when I edit the /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default to AllowOverride all

<VirtualHost *:80>
        ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost

        DocumentRoot /var/www
        <Directory />
                Options FollowSymLinks
                AllowOverride none
        </Directory>
        <Directory /var/www/>
                Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
                AllowOverride all
                Order allow,deny
                allow from all
        </Directory>
...

Can you please check the php and apache error logs? I had similar issues and they didn't have to do with the config but missing files etc.

The error has the following:
 /var/www/.htaccess: Invalid command 'RewriteEngine', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

This was fixed with the following command:
a2enmod rewrite

However the result was http://cl.ly/230m2d303O3M3U2l3d23
