DNSZoneUpdated action/event

Hi,

I have a question about DNSZoneUpdated. Like it's described in documentation trigger should work when something inside attached DNS zone changed.

I'm require for my task registration on one of the server in farm (role-A) for all servers from role-B.

I have added into role-A script to be executed on DNSZoneUpdate, but looks like it's not working.

Can somebody explain what I've missed or maybe I'm not understand something?

Which farm/role DNS zone is assigned to? And the script? Which changed are made?

for example I have dns zone called abc.com assigned to farm called FARM-SRV

I have assigned to roles:

ROLE-A -> one instance with configured script to be executed om DNSZoneUpdate event

ROLE-B -> should be farm of the servers which required registration at ROLE-A server

In case if I've terminated/create new servers in ROLE-B, I have nothing executed at ROLE-A server, but as far as I'm understand docs -> any (even manual) update inside assigned dns zone should trigger script for ROLE-A

If I understand correctly, the dns zone is assigned to create A records for every instance of ROLE-B (in your example), but when a new ROLE-B instance comes up, the dns zone is indeed changed (additional A record), but the event DNSZoneUpdated isn't fired, and no scripts executed?

Yes. DNS was updated but no trigger on the role configured with event

Михайло,

This event has been deprecated and is no longer supposed to work.

We'll fix this discrepancy in the user interface. I'd recommend to use HostUp/HostDown events instead. Let me know if you need assistance with that.
