Ian, Hi. I recently ran TRITON calculations for Takahama samples SF95, SF96, and SF97. My results for samples SF95 and SF97 agree very closely to yours in NUREG CR-6968. My results for sample SF96 are a little bit different than yours. In particular, my average difference in grams U-235/grams U-initial, (C/E-1)*100 , is about 7%. The average difference in NUREG CR-6968 for U-235 for sample SF96 is about 2%.

Could you send me one of your TRITON input decks for any one of the SF96 samples? I have looked at my input cases for SF96 and can not understand why my results do not agree with yours.

Thanks. Paul.

Ian, I increased the specific powers in my TRITON models for SF96 until the predicted Nd-148 concentrations matched the measured Nd-148 concentrations within 1%. Now the results for S95, SF96, and SF97 look consistent. I beleive that this was also the approach employed in NUREG CR-6968. The correction factor for SF96-1 was 10% and 5% for the remaining 4 samples.

Thanks. Paul O'Donnell
