Hi,

When run a KENO-VI depletion case, I am getting the error message included below. Looks like a simple problem having to do with the global unit definition, but cannot figure it out. The input file is written out at the end of this message. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Fakhrul Islam

Hi Fakhrul Islam,
It appears TRITON is getting confused about the Array and Media using cylinder 110.

I reproduced the same error running your input on my Mac OS test machine. If I comment/remove the Media 3 1 110 record your input runs to completion.

 Hi Rob,

Thank you very much for troubleshooting the problem for me. Strangely, the solution is not working for me on Windows. Just to be sure, deleted all temporary files from the temporary folder (%tmp%), but no luck. The fact that you could reproduce the error on Mac tells that there indeed was an issue with the global unit (media) specification. Not sure why the solution is not working on Windows!

Thanks,
Fakhrul

Hi Fakhrul,
What is the new error you are observing on Windows?

Same as before. Let me copy the error message below. Thank you!

Hi Fakhrul,
I was able to reproduce the initial problem and resolve via my suggested removal of media 3.

Which version of SCALE are you executing?

I have been able to reproduce and resolve the problem on Mac OS and Windows using SCALE 6.2.3.

Rob, thank you for following up on this with me. Just to be sure, I copied the body of the input file I had shared with you, created a new input file, commented out that one line you suggested, and the job successfully ran to completion. Something must have been funky with my previous input file, though I shared the same content with you.I am using SCALE 6.2.3.

May I ask one question by the way? How can I get SCALE 6.2.4? Apparently, 6.2.4 version is not listed on the RSIC package page. Thank you.

Hi Fakhrul,

Glad to hear you are operational.

I provided SCALE 6.2.4 to RSICC a few weeks ago. it usually takes them a few weeks to process new packages so it should be landing on their website any day now.

For SCALE maintenance release you can request an update from ScaleHelp. However, ScaleHelp is holding the 6.2.4 releases until RSICC has the release available on their website. If you email them ScaleHelp we will put your request in the distribution queue for when it has a green light.

Best regards,

Thank you for your suggestion. I sent an email to ScaleHelp around a week ago requesting for SCALE 6.2.4. Guess they will get to my email at due time. Thank you.
