Installation of Scale Data: Mac and BigSur

Hello, I am a newcomer to Scale and I tried to install it on my new mac (OS Big Sur 11.2 and java version 1.8.0_281 installed).

Concerning the Scale 6.2 data part, I type in a terminal java -jar scale-6.2-data-setup.jar.

Java is properly launched and I got the message: "Setting mediadir: /Users/giot/WORK/SOFT/SCALE/20210406/disc_1"

but I don't have any dialog window... so no really way to go on.

Am I supposed to have something else than java ?

Hi Lydie,

This appears to be an issue with Java on Mac Big Sur.

Looking at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252249712, I think you might try installing the JDK and see if this helps.

hello, I installed both JDK and JRE and I tried again but it is not working.

But it seems indeed that there are some issues with Java and Big Sur. So if someone managed to overcome it :) ...
