Hello all,

AMPX files from earlier versions of SCALE do not work in SCALE-6.2 and higher.

Does anybody know a way to convert "old fashioned" AMPX (SCALE-6.0 and earlier) to the new format?

Background: I use "hand-written" AMPX working libraries for various calculations, mostly with XSDRNPM. I have many of those "hand-written" AMPX files in the old format, and I cannot use those libraries in SCALE-6.2.4. Also the AIM module, which used to be an option to create "manual" AMPX files, is no longer part of the distribution.

Thanks,
Van Rooijen

Hello, Van Rooijen.

[echoing the response from SCALEHELP, in case it is helpful to other users]

The conversion can be performed with the AmpxMGFormat tool, as

AmpxMGFormat -i <input MG library> -o <output MG library> -f <desired format>

The desired format can be either "legacy" for the "old" format or "boff" for the most recent format.

Thank you,

Jordan

I would like to point out that the "AmpxMGFormat" program is not described in any of the manuals (SCALE manual, README, or the AMPX-6 manual).
