Random seed in Shift

It seems Shifts runs with a fixed random seed?

Can I change that so it automatically uses a new random seed for each run, or do I have to rnd= a different number for each run?

Hi Kaspar,

It's a feature that Shift uses the same random seed if a job is submitted multiple times. This behavior helps us with testing the code.

Like you already wrote, you need to manually set the "RND" parameter if you wanted to change the seed.
