Dear all,

I would to simply ask if MAVRIC/MONACO supports biased directional source. For example, neutrons born and emitted to only x-direction instead of isotropically.

It looks like only Energy/Spatial distributions and strength can be defined for a source, not the direction.

Thank you,
Zeyu Chen

Dear Zeyu Chen,

MONACO/MAVBRIC supports source angular distribution via "dDistributionID" keyword in the source block by which users can provide a distribution ID. This keyword requires "direction" keyword in the same source block and requires a reference direction.

Sincerely,

Hello Cihangir,

I was looking at the "dDistributionID" and  "direction" earlyas well.
In the manual the default value for direction is <u,w,v> = <0,0,1>.  Previously I was confused by this. So does that mean this "direction = <0,0,1>" is applied only if "dDistributionID" presents?

Thank you,
Zeyu Chen

Yes, "direction" is only used with "dDistributionID" and the default angular distribution is isotropic. I recommend checking/verifying source definitions in the main output file.
