Dear all,

When using SCALE6.1 for shielding calculations (MAVRIC) I sometimes get a message (in the output file) like:

Warning: history 1411 of batch 251 has more than 1000 particles in the bank

Is this OK? May I still trust the results I get (flux and dose rates) from this output? Is this some sort of "alarm" that denotes there's something wrong in my input or that I have been unaware of details?

Thank you in advance

That is correct! The warning message is for letting users know that there are quite a few particles being generated in the model with current parameters. If the user unaware of enabled fission neutrons or gamma production options then the message provides an insight to the user to turn them off, extra information otherwise. Warning messages are nothing to be scared of as long as the model and parameters are what users want.

Sincerely,
Cihangir

Thank you! That makes sense.
Cheers
