I am using TRITON(T-DEPL) to simulate a PWR fuel assembly depletion. The assembly contains burnable poison rods during the first cycle of depletion only. The second part of the depletion is accomplished by reading a restart concentration file for the fuel mixtures and removing the burnable poison rods from the NEWT geometry model.

Is there a way to append the contents of FT33F001 from the first part of the depletion with the contents of FT33F001 from the second part of the depletion? I am trying to produce a single FT33F001 cross section file which covers the entire depletion period.

Thanks. Paul O'Donnell

You are ahead of us. The ORIGEN libraries we have generated to date have been based on simpler models that do not change design configuration.

However, we routinely do analyses using mulitple TRITON models with the restart option but have not developed a utility that would combine the libraries from two models. An option like this in ARPLIB would be logical.

The formats of the binary library are documented in M6. Combining libraries would require copying the cross section records from one library to another, and verifying that the sizes in each library are identical.
