test reporting with path funspecs

When using regular funspec everything works great as far as the reporting that we need to do. E.x if a test fails we send a recording, image, and a stack trace to a reporting system. We are looking into using path funspecs and I noticed in the scaladoc that we cannot override withFixture. In the absence of being able to do our reporting in a overriden withFixture, what is the best practice for reporting test failures?
