Hi Everyone,

Packetloop (www.packetloop.com / blog.packetloop.com) is a Big Data Security Analytics platform with the primary goal of encoding large and complex data into visual analytics (knowledge) to the user. We have an incredible visualisation engine built on D3 and a complex event processing backend built in Scala.

Packetloop was acquired by Arbor Networks last week (https://twitter.com/search?q=packetloop) and part of the deal was to establish a Research and Development facility in Sydney. We are currently looking at premises in Surry Hills. Our company is the pioneer and first to market in the field, our interface and capabilities are cutting edge. You can check out some of our work here http://vimeo.com/user6890858

I am looking for passionate 4 Scala developers to build the next generation, mass-scale, and real-time security analytics platform. You will be joining a team that has pioneered the development of Big Data Security Analytics and sets the technical benchmark for the application of Big Data toolsets to Security - globally.

If you have worked with Storm Processor/Trident or Akka.io AWESOME. If you've worked with Scalding, Clojure, Spark/Shark or Hadoop GREAT!
If you are passionate about Machine Learning, Neural networks and probabilistic models that's a PLUS.
If you're into mass-scale, high volume, distributed and reliable systems SWEET.

The job is in Sydney. Obviously ability to work from home (periodically) but we are building out some awesome premises so presume you will want to base yourself there. I've toured Atlassian and Facebook in Sydney to develop the spec for the new premises (thanks!)

+120K base (+Super). Being a US company we also contribute to private health insurance for you/family.

This is a full time position. If you're interested feel free to drop me a line and I can forward you the full Job Description.

I am looking to hire 4 people so if you and some friends have been keen to work together and push functional programming to the limit this could be a great chance.

Thanks for your time! ;)
