Hi,
So, I've been in discussions with Jason Baldridge about names for the
library, along with various collaboration ideas.
I've been calling it Breeze, but that is still open to change. He had
two quite good ideas, and I was going to see what you thought. The
candidates are Breeze, Shock, and Thoth.
1) Breeze - Suggests lightness, ease, subtlety, speed. Breeze is also
the name of a dog I was worked with for a while, and I liked her a
lot.
She's where I got the name. (She was smart, eager to please, but a
little willful at times, which is how I find Scala. ;)
2) Shock - Suggests power, ideas, brightness. Fits in with the growing
tradition in Scala land of naming libraries after powerful elemental
terms. (Spark, Storm...) Breeze kind of fits that too.
3) Thoth - The Egyptian god of knowledge and language. Kind of a
mouthful to English speakers, but appropriate for a library that is
largely about language processing and learning...
Thoughts? Other suggestions?
