Hi Dan and David!

I am very interested in using (and probably contributing to it in the
future as well, if you will) ScalaNLP for my research work here at
SRI. I am able to successfully install both ScalaNLP and Scalala as
dependencies in my Maven project.

I also cloned the source code from the git repositories. However, I am
unable to import the source code as a project into my Eclipse IDE.
Somehow my Eclipse does not recognize the folders as a project. I
tried telling eclipse to import it as a "existing project in the
filesystem", but it did not work. I also tried cloning the project
directly from Eclipse using the EGIT Plugin in eclipse, but that
complained as well. Do you know what's the right way to do it?

Also, although both these projects can be used as dependencies in a
maven project, it doesn't seem like they are managed by maven
themselves, since the pom.xml file is missing. I read in the
discussions somewhere that you need to install sbt to compile the
code? Can you tell me more about it or post it on the documentation
pages?

Thanks
-Ramesh

Hey Ramesh,

Great to hear from you!

I don't have a lot of experience with Eclipse and EGIT these days. I
mostly use IntelliJ (highly recommended, now that it's free!) You
might want to check out the projects on the command line, and then
have eclipse import an existing project. I'm swamped til this weekend,
but I'll give it a shot then.

Re: sbt, I just pushed an update to scalanlp-core that includes sbt.
Just run ./sbt update compile or maybe sh sbt update compile. It's
very similar to maven in terms of how it functions.

I'll add docs soon. Thanks for reminding me!

Let me know if you have any more questions.
