SBT vs Maven for Scala?

I am new to Scala/SBT (however have prior experience in Java/Maven).

For a new Spark/Scala project code I have to write, what should be the choice: SBT or Maven?

You can use either just fine. Sbt generally has faster compile-test-cycle (most important thing to me since this is where we developers spend most of our time), is easy to get started with, but difficult to master). If you are already comfortable with mvn i would probably just stick to that.
