ScalaSTM for Java Projects

Hi,

We are planning to use ScalaSTM for our java application to protect the data. I wanted to know if ScalaSTM can be distributed and if there would be support for ScalaSTM in future in case of any problem. We have tried a couple of other STM's like ObjectFabric and Multiverse but they are not undergoing active development right now. So wanted to get more information on ScalaSTM.
