**GCs or USCs who are Local to Southern California Only**

 

Title: Java Developer

Location: El Segundo, CA

Duration: 18 month CTH

Rate $45/hour C2C Max

 

Top Three Skills:                   

1)      4 to 5 years of Java Development

2)      Experience using Scripting languages (JavaScript, Ruby, Groovy, Scala, Python, Perl

3)      2+ years of experience using SOAP or REST web services

4)      Computer Science Degree

 

Responsibilities:
o Design, write, modify and debug scripts and applications in Groovy and/or Java as needed to meet requirements.
o Build front-end UI using a combination of third-party products and Groovy.
o Ensure that software development efforts comply with coding standards and software version control.
o Participate in all cycles of the testing phase to validate code, including unit testing, subsystem testing and end-to-end testing.
o Provide engineering support for test execution and initial production deployment including interfacing with other engineering teams.
o Identify technical issues in production. Provide recommendations for appropriate approaches and solutions.
o Communicate with system users in production to understand system vulnerability and weaknesses.
o Provide information efficiently to all management levels on ongoing issues, project activities and progress.
o Work with offshore teams to support any project development work on an as-needed basis.
o Able to participate during non-business hours for system maintenance
o Some local travel may be required.

o Computer Science background, or equivalent, with approximately 4 to 5 years of working experience in software development.
o Experience in object-oriented languages such as Java and solid expertise in writing scripts (i.e. Python, PERL, Java Script, etc.). Groovy and TCL is a major plus.
o Strong knowledge and working experience with distributed network/computing environments and standard communication protocols, such as REST, JMS, JMX, Web Services, SOAP, HTTP, etc. SNMP is a major plus.
o Strong knowledge and working experience with messaging formats, such as JSON and XML.
o Hands-on knowledge and expertise of UNIX and Windows operating environments (command-line knowledge of Red Hat Linux is a major plus).
o Experience with troubleshooting and problem solving in an operational, production, and/or customer-service oriented environment is strongly desired.
