Scala moves further into the mainstream with an "Adopt" endorsement in Thoughtwork's latest Tech Radar:

"Adopt: We feel strongly that the industry should be adopting these items. We use them when appropriate on our projects"

The embedded link target in the original email points to outlook.com when viewed in gmail. Maybe this will work: <http://thoughtworks.fileburst.com/assets/technology-radar-october-2012.pdf>. If not, copy the link text.

Cheers,
Kristian.

I think it's very positive.

The main page is http://www.thoughtworks.com/radar - you can get various formats from there.

It's positive, but it's also pretty funny.

The idea that the profession is divided into "programming languages",
which are then assigned a "status" from a possible set of statuses by
some corporation (that has never made any meaningful contribution to
this area anyway) and that assignment -- in this case, status=Adopt --
is then taken seriously by at least one person and then when you think
to yourself "WTF?" and look around bit, you learn that actually, it's a
lot more than one person taking it seriously... well for me, that's
hilarious for many reasons YMMV.

Sorry all for the dodgy Microsoft email link. Every outbound link from my work Exchange webmail redirects off a Microsoft site first. This irritates me because the only reason I can imagine for them wanting to do this is to eavesdrop on their user's activity. All wrapped up in a reassuring-sounding privacy policy no doubt, but nonetheless eavesdropping it remains.
