I have my Eclipse set up but when I load a scala project,
   * it puts a 'J' next to my Scala files, and
   * syntax highlighting seem to be turned off

The following lines do not show syntax or reference errors at all:

import com.twitter.abc.zzzz

  x = = = = = l)) sfklsf

What could be wrong with my settings, or is this an issue with Scala IDE?

thanks
Simon

Seems to me eclipse is not seeing your project as a scala project.
Try right clicking on the projects root and from the context menu choose "add scala nature". Or if that is already on it first remove scala nature then add it again.

Goodluck,
Jan

hi Jan,

    I think it is already in Scala nature, when I right click there is a Scala entry in the drop down, and there is an expanded entry that says: remove Scala nature.  So by that, I believe it is already in Scala nature.

   Oh, I also tried to remove and add it back, no change in the problem.

Thanks

Simon

Can we have more information? What version of Scala IDE and Eclipse are you using? Do the errors also occur on a freshly created Scala project?

Hi Simon,

Usually, that can happen because either the Scala IDE plug-in isn't installed (as odd as it may be, please double-check this), or the JDT weaving is disabled (open the Scala Setup Diagnostic in the top menu bar, and make sure that Enable JDT Weaving is ticked).

Hope this helps.
