I installed Scala plugin in Spring Source Eclipse (STS) but plugin does not work correctly

When I open scala files in eclipse, the color syntax highlighting is
the only thing that is working but nothing else is working. For
example when I intentionally type incorrect scala code, there is no
indication of warnings/errors as I type. Secondly I cannot debug scala
either. I installed the scala plugin vis STS extensions option because
that is the only to install scala plugin in STS.

How can I fix this problem?

What does the Scala/Run Setup Diagnostics dialog say? Is JDT weaving enabled?

Thanks for the tip. When i checked marked the option
use Scala compatible JDT content assist, the problem seems to be fixed
now.
