Hello,
Constraint Programming (CP) is a technology for modeling and solving difficult decision problems. It is a technology that is applied by industry giants like IBM and recognized by industry giants like Google by awarding CP researchers/software engineers with Google Australia Eureka Prize for Innovation. Radoslaw Szymanek, one of the authors of CP library in Java (JaCoP) will present basics of CP followed by the presentation of Scala based DSL for CP.
After an explanation of the basics concepts of Constraint Programming using simple examples, also from Java, SEGL participants will have possibility to write few Scala programs to solve simple decision problems like Suduku.
We would like to obtain feedback from SEGL participants how to improve Scala DSL so it is easier to use and more elegant.
The session will be held on Tues day 4th of March at 18:30 at Crosssing-Tech, Innovation square - building J (4th floor), Lausanne (next the Scientific Parc of the EPFL).
