BEAST Update

Hey guys, I'm thinking about trying to hold something "big" for our
first meeting, like an "unconference". Wanted to know if anyone is
interested and/or thinks this is a good idea?

I'm currently trying to line up presentations at local java user's
groups to present about Scala and try to recruit some interest. I'm
hoping if we can reach critical mass, we could start this group with a
bang! However I'm always willing to meet up in any kind of
circumstance. So if you have any ideas, let me know!

I'm currently have plans with the Northern-Virginia JuG, and am trying
to talk to the DC Fringe folk, and the Bethesda Java user's group.
Anyone else interested in helping/know of other groups who may share
interest?

I think so. Especially given your ideas for rolling in the various
local UGs. I'm always a little bummed at the turn-outs for local
events concerning any one specific topic.

I have been involved with the DC Clojure Study group at
http://groups.google.com/group/clojure-study-dc. They would likely be
interested also.
