Turkeys: They Need 'Em!

Dear Friends in Christ,

The St. Vincent de Paul Society needs 25 turkeys for Thanksgiving.

As our fellow member Josh wrote to us, let's try to get the Young
Adults to become the 'first line of defense' when the Body of Christ
needs help.

Let's say that a 16-lb turkey costs about $20 (it does according to my
Google search). We need to pull together $500 in the next 3 weeks to
supply all the turkeys for those in our local community who need help
this Thanksgiving.

Many in Tucson are suffering with the national economic situation, and
St. Vincent is receiving more calls for help than in recent years.

This is a time for us to remember the Corporal Works of Mercy! Thus,
if each member can put $25-$40 together for the YAM to give to the
SVdPS in the next 21 days, we could live up to one of the five aspects
of our mission, Charity.

You can bring a check or cash to either Lectio, the St. Paul series,
or a Mass, and give it to one of the core ministry members (Shannon,
Juan, Josh, or me).

Let's make this happen! St. Cyril, pray for us!
