Lisa Lowe is Professor of Literature at UC San Diego and the author of the groundbreaking monographs Critical Terrains: French and British Orientalisms (Cornell UP, 1994), and Immigrant Acts: On Asian American Cultural Politics (Duke UP, 1996), as well as the co-editor, with David Lloyd, of the anthology The Politics of Culture in the Shadow of Capital (Duke UP, 1997). Professor Lowe co-edits, with Judith Halberstam, the Perverse Modernities book series at Duke UP.
