Live Earth is a nonprofit organization working in the Pajaro Valley community to empower youth and families to build and sustain healthy food, farming, social and natural systems.Our home, Live Earth Farm, is a 150 acre patchwork of working organic farm, riparian corridor, oak and redwood forest in the Pajaro Valley of Santa Cruz County, California.

What we do
* Farm Discovery offers educational programs that inspire youth and families to transform their relationship to food, farming and nature.
* We steward our working farm and its wild spaces as an environmentally and economically viable piece of the food system and a learning space.
* We grow and deliver nutritious, organic food with students for community members most in need – seniors, veterans, foster youth, farmworkers and more

Position Description
The NDMV Americorps Member will learn to lead the food, farming and nature education programming, including field trips, farm immersions, summer camp, youth development programs and support all education programs. This includes the associated outreach through promotional activities, materials and the management and recruitment and training of volunteers and docents.

Farming: components include help managing the 1-acre Discovery Garden, Education Fields, pygmy goats and chicken flocks, as well as, coordinating with farm staff and volunteers to accomplish large seasonal education projects and partnerships.

Programs: We run seasonal field trips and Farm Immersions (February-June & Sept-Nov), a weekly program with Santa Cruz Montessori (Sept-June), a monthly Home School program (Sept-June), drop in programs (year round), Summer Farm Camps, Summer Leader in Training and job programs (June-July), a partnership with Food What?! (March-Oct), a produce distribution program (year-round), field and garden volunteers (year-round). During the pandemic we have constantly adjusted and developed programs to best serve the needs of our community.
