A santa cruz 27 is the best bang for the buck sailboat for a dingy sailer looking to get into ocean racing.
In the past year we have returned her to her original name “Shadowfax”. We have cleaned the bottom and put on a fresh coat of antifouling bottom paint. We moved the Trailer Axle back about a foot to create appropriate tongue weight. We worked with the DMV to recover the lost paperwork on the trailer so we now have a pink slip for the trailer and the boat. We replaced the carburetor on the outboard. We have done a lot of general cleaning.
We wanted the boat to stay in Morro Bay. But unfortunately i think our little club has maxed out at 3 SC27's. (Janina, Mistress quickly and Gotcha)
Shadowfax comes with a 2021 honda 2.3 four stroke outboard. A great racing main sail. Multiple older dacron jibs and an older spinnaker. She even comes with all the equipment for a self tacking jib if the new owners just want to day sail and not race.
The previous owners removed all electronics and none race equipment from below so she is very light and fast. She finished 7th in Nationals in 2022 ahead of all three of the other Morro Bay entries. Janina (9th), Mistress Quickly (10th) and Gotcha(11th)
