As you may have read in my last email, Rio lost her rig recently. We came to the conclusion that the amount of work and money to get a new rig on Rio is too much of a project for us to take on, and we have to move on.

Before parting her out, or worse, we would love for her to find a new home. The hull is in very decent shape and mainly needs a chain plate (the one that bent in the incident is available) and some superficial fiberglass work at the mast step before a rig could come on. The mast base (Ballenger HMBM30) might be salvageable.
A generous member of the class provided a spare boom, which means the main thing missing is a mast.
She comes with a trailer. Pricing is very flexible.

PS: If anybody has some temporary storage available, please let us know. That would give us a bit more time to find her a home that can keep her in the fleet.

Sorry to hear it, but if anyone is interested in the boat, I do have a rig in my backyard with shrouds and stays that is available for what I paid for it, so it wouldn’t be a lot of work to get her back in the water.

Cue Gusto…😅
