Hello Iain,

Just wanting to know if you have any idea on how the SC101 does its
mirroring ?

Does it do it at the SC101 or on the client side ? Just curious as to
if better performance would be gained out of using a mirroring system
on the client side instead of the SC101.

Based on reports of speeds dropping by half, I believe the client is
responsible for double sending the data to multiple targets, though I
haven't really collected and analysed packet captures to prove that
out.

I think I noticed that members of a mirror-set have the same UUID with
a distinguishing suffix? When resolving a UUID you can use '*'
wildcard suffixes to match multiple partitions.

Performance on sc101 is pretty abysmal; 60-70Mbps per device shared
amongst multiple disks.

I have a couple of devices in a RAID-5 set and the initial sync takes
forever because writing the parity information can only progress at
half of the 30-35Mbps speed due to reads on the other disk in the same
device.
