Role: Jr. Java (Production Supports) Developer
Location: Hartford, CT
Job Type: Right to Hire

Duties:
Involved in the analysis, design, development and implementation of
software applications.
Strong analytical ability, work with matrix partners to determine root
cause, and implement solutions with some coding efforts required.
Strong communication and collaboration skills in a highly matrixed
environment
Effective collaboration abilities.
Ability to coordinate with internal and external resources as
necessary to isolate and troubleshoot application and infrastructure
issues.
Work with application programmers, architects, and business analysts
to understand the business, technical and infrastructure needs.
Champion quality and system efficiency improvements
Research and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations
to obtain efficiencies and cost effective solutions.
Ensure system/application health meets current business metrics and
needs.
Ability to work across multiple applications/projects, allocate time
appropriately to meet assigned deadlines.
Respond to service requests within established SLA.
Flexibility in off hours support as needed.
Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering
computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form
of desired results.
Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of
applications programming activities.
This position may perform systems analysis functions.

Skills:
Strong analytical/trouble shooting skills.
Good communication skills.
Technical learning agility
Languages: Java, J2EE, SQL.
Strong Technical background in UNIX Client/Server Platform, Internet/
Intranet (Web) Platform, Websphere, and Oracle.
Root cause troubleshooting for AIX and Oracle
- must have current experience/knowledge of Oracle and Websphere
- debugging websphere scripts/logs.
Experience with Web Admin Console and deployments. Knowledge of Flex,
JBOSS

Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline,
typically six or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT
with a minimum of four years experience application program
development, or the equivalent in education and work experience
