Subject: No one should be left in the cold.

Affordable and reliable clean energy is a right, not a privilege.

Bill,

In the face of extreme weather and an aging power grid, we’re becoming more vulnerable to grid failure.

When the power cuts out, we’re left with a dark truth: Investor-owned utilities (IOUs) are more concerned about protecting their bottom line than investing in clean energy solutions that would strengthen our power grid.

It’s easy to feel powerless in the face of rising energy costs and unreliable service. But we can hold utilities accountable.

Affordable and reliable clean energy is a right, not a privilege. Tell your utility: We demand reliable energy, and solar is part of making that happen.

Local solar solutions that can dramatically improve reliability and reduce costs already exist. Solar + storage isn’t a futuristic or pie-in-the-sky idea, these solutions are being deployed and have proven to increase grid flexibility, provide backup power during outages, and reduce costs by storing clean energy for when it’s needed most.

So, why aren’t IOUs across the country prioritizing these ready-to-go clean energy alternatives? IOUs operate on a business model that rewards profit over people. The current utility profit model, incentivizes investment in costly, outdated infrastructure, rather than more affordable alternatives.

But here’s where we come in. Through regulatory intervention, legislative action, and public advocacy, we can make our utilities feel the repercussions of inaction.

Add your name to our petition and demand reliable, affordable, clean energy for all.

Onward,

Sach + the Vote Solar team
