thanks everyone for coming last night - I really had a great time. For those unable to attend we had a number of interesting conversations covering things like the importance of perceiving structure in music, quite deep discussions with mathematics (we were joined by Carl McTague who's currently doing a postdoc in Maths) as well as the usual interesting programming languages for music banter.
Things of note were:
* Lea produced a rather amusing photo of himself playing a mini concertina in a Virgin Records history book!!
* We had a 'what have we been up to recently' session where we discussed and showed our work and ideas.
* Carl played us a remarkably interesting spiral piece he composed with a haskell program generating cmix code.
* I showed some of the recent SClang -> Overtone translations I've been working on (essentially to test and improve the capabilities of Overtone)
* Lea talked about some beat-oriented programming language abstractions he was working on. It's in a very early stage, but full of potential.
I'm looking forward to the next meeting,
Sam
