Passing of Al Schubert - Student Leader in Polity, Fallfest, FSA

Hi Everyone -
It is with sadness that I pass along the news of Al's passing. While details are still a bit confusing, Al had back surgery and appears to have died very quickly from a post op infection. Further questions should be directed to Bill Camarda or Dave Razler. Al was Fallfest Co-Chair, on the FSA Board, headed numerous committees to make the campus a better place - and as Bill wrote, continued to do the same throughout his life, spending many years working for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity. I have two conference calls with my board and then another later evening with one of my committees. These require me to have access to a computer and two phone lines as I have to moderate them as well so unfortunately I won’t be able to join everyone at our old stomping grounds.
Always sad to hear of another fallen hero who had carried on or was part of the inspiration in continuing our SB legacy of what many will remember about SB through their retirement years to share with their grandchildren whether they were involved in FallFest, ICON or any massive event that gave SB its character and brought together our community.
