Hi Everyone -
There were many responses to the chance to get a daily digest from alumni who were not interested because they "loved" the back and forth. There were also many exuberant responses saying "Thank you, thank you!" that their mail was reduced to one a day.
After listening to everyone, here's some groundrules. This was meant to be a reunion info group and has been used for other good reasons since you all have lots of historical knowledge. But it is not going beyond that and the back and forth will be more controlled.
I'm using Mace as an example since he did both good and bad in one conversation. When he responded to Keith asking how he was, we all got to find out. That was ok, especially for those who know or know of Keith. When he responded with just "LOL", by that point the emails should have been moved to a private conversation.
So, new rules:
a) The list can be used for getting and giving relevant information, but personal causes should be done using other resources.
b) Once a conversation becomes more one to one, make it private. Emails that will not elicit info that others may find interesting, eg LOL, please don't send. They won't be approved.
Given that - below is some info from a few emails David Razler sent for approval that I am condensing to keep within the new framework.
a) One email I was going to send I mistakenly deleted and sent the one about John Toll instead. The deleted one was misdirected to the group and was addressed to the reporter but it also contained other historical or relevant info. Basically, there are good collections in archives with donations from Dave, Mitch Cohen, and others. He wants you to donate whatever you have too. (Please note, however, with budget cuts, if you don't also send a corresponding monetary donation, Archives can't really handle it.)
Take care,
