I'm sure many of you have already heard that we are reviving the old Stony Brook Concerts brand that brought all of the legendary musical talent to Stony Brook that landed us in Long Island's Music Hall of Fame. If Polity could do one thing well, that was bringing big names. As a board member of the SAB, I've made it a priority to use our budget to bring events that no club would be able to bring (after all, it would be silly for USG to duplicate the kind of events that our clubs can hold). I'd like to thank you all for giving us a budget that will allow us to plan an incredible line-up this Spring. I encourage you to pick up the latest issue of the Press for more information about our plans for the Spring.
I see that a few of you are already planning to attend, and I really appreciate that. I hope you all have the Stony Brook Concerts T-Shirts that we are giving away at the event. If you don't, see Moiz ASAP, and wear it around campus.
I can't announce the artist yet, but I can say that it's not a big name, so we really need to generate a lot of excitement to pack out Ballroom A. They are a really popular group in Brooklyn, so it should be a lot of fun. If we can pack out the room with a relatively small concert like this, then we can confidently book bigger names without worrying about attendance.
If you attend the event, you'll receive a full-color version of the poster with images of old concert tickets on the back, and if you arrive early enough, we may be giving away the Stony Brook Concerts T-Shirts.
As a side note,
http://sbulife.com has finally been launched. Feel free to spread the word.
Thanks for your help!
