Per the prior suggestions of the group, now that the experimental procedure appears mature, I have split it out into its own document, "2017-Feb Interlab Experimental Procedure", in a new "2017_Feb_interlab" folder. I have also added folders to receive data and analysis.

Thanks,
-Jake

Thanks Jake.

I attempted to reorganize the Google Drive a little, but feel free to change things up if something else makes more sense.

Changes that I made:
  • I pulled the "cytometers" sheet, the "strains" sheet, and the "plasmid_maps" folder out of the "2016_mini_interlab" folder and pulled them up to the top folder.
    • At least in their present form, they contain information which is globally relevant across the project.
    • I could envision making separate "cytometers" and "strains" sheets and a separate collection of plasmid maps for every "interlab_*" folder so that each "interlab_*" folder stands alone, but that feels like a lot of work for not much benefit.
  • I pulled the "spectra" folder out of the "2016_mini_interlab" folder and put it in the top folder.
    • It still feels like the "spectra" folder and the "beads_sources" folder are potentially related, but I couldn't think of a succinct way to combine them.
  • I moved the "Addresses" document from the "2016_mini_interlab" folder to the "2017_Feb_interlab" folder.
  • I saved a local copy of the "2016_mini_interlab/diagrams" folder and then removed it from the Google Drive. (I'm the one who originally put that material up, and as far as I know, it wasn't in use and doesn't really feel like it belongs in the "2016_mini_interlab" folder. It can reappear later if there is need for it).
Lingering organizational concerns:
  • The "additional_analyses" folder (in the top folder) feels unaffiliated with anything
  • The "test_data" folder (in the top folder) feels like an unorganized catch-all for old investigations. Maybe even just a rename of "test_data" (which is not very reflective of its contents in my opinion) to "pre_interlab_investigations" or something along those lines.
    • The "additional_analyses" folder could potentially be moved to a "pre_interlab_investigations" folder
    • It might also make sense to move the "Analysis_Pipeline_Summary" sheet from the "2016_mini_interlab" folder to a "pre_interlab_investigations" folder
