Dear subscribers to Stephanie's invisible newsletter,
Clearly, I am not doing this on a regular basis. There is hope,
however, that one day I will pick up this newsletter and start writing
you regularly. Regularly, like, once a month or twice a year -- don't
expect weekly updates from me ;-). You never know when that might
happen!
The last newsletter I sent you was almost a year ago, in April 2009.
Quite a few of you have signed up since then and probably imagine this
newsletter is completely dead. It's not! I'm alive! To summarize what
has been going on for me during the last year: more of the same, just
better. The coworking space <http://eclau.ch> is filling up, I have
regular clients like the ebookers.ch blog
<http://blog.ebookers.ch/fr/> and many "short-term" clients, mainly
freelancers and small business who want to develop a web presence, and
some speaking/consulting gigs.
I've decided that 2010 would be "the year of packaging", which means
I'm going to make an effort with the way I present my services.
Packaging matters, to my great frustration, so now I'm going to suck
it up and do what must be done. I already have a few shiny PDF
documents that I send out to clients for Strategic Consulting,
Speaking, and WordPress Services -- little by little, I'm working on
more of those. After nearly 4 years working freelance, I'm also
starting to feel that I know what I'm doing when it comes to rates and
negotiating with clients. Yay! Next steps: revamp my professional
website (::cringe::).

Clairement, je ne suis pas en train de vous écrire régulièrement. Mais
qui sait, un jour je vais peut-être m'y mettre! En attendant,
j'apprécie beaucoup que vous soyez restés dans le coin pour mes
lettres intermittentes.
Ma dernière newsletter date d'il y a plus d'un an. Avril 2009! Je ne
vais pas vous raconter par le menu ce qui s'est passé durant cette
dernière année, mais en bref: la même chose, mais en mieux -- 2009 a
été une bonne année. L'eclau <http://eclau.ch/> continue à se remplir,
j'ai des mandats réguliers comme le blog ebookers.ch
<http://blog.ebookers.ch/fr/>, et des mandats plus brefs, comme des
indépendants qui cherchent à se faire une présence sur le web, et
quelques mandats pour des conférences, du consulting, de la formation.
J'ai décrété que 2010 serait "l'année de l'emballage", ce qui signifie
que je vais faire un effort dans la façon dont je présente mes
services. L'emballage, c'est important, et même si ça me frustre
terriblement il est temps que je ravale un peu ma fierté (mal placée)
et que je m'y mette. J'ai déjà quelques jolis documents PDF que
j'envoie à mes clients pour mes services WordPress, le consulting
stratégique, et les conférences. Je suis tranquillement en train de
compléter la série. Après 4 ans comme indépendante, je commence aussi
enfin à avoir l'impression que je sais ce que je fais côté tarifs et
négotiations (c'est le moment!) Prochaine étape, mettre à jour
LinkedIn et mon site web professionnel (ouille...)
