This month's topic will be of use to anyone whose CSS changes have had unintended effects. George Speake will be covering the work he's done on automated appearance testing:
"In a large Rails web application, with even the best structured code and css, unexpected things can happen to the look and feel of pages way outside of the area “that should have been affected.” the most conscientious developers do their best to make sure tests are in place and their changes have not broken anything. however, it is nearly impossible to check that all pages in the app have not been inadvertently changed. Appearance Testing is an attempt to put automated tests in place to catch unintended changes in even the most remote areas of the application."
Please join us to discuss all things Ruby and Rails. Pizza will be provided. Hope to see you all there!
