Guys -
Who is open to having an intern from the local high school Laguna
Blanca for a gifted senior who has already made games and apps on his
own ? It is a 4 week program in May but could last longer if you
wanted. We would take this on but our small team is travelling in
May.
Many thanks!
Sam Sperling

Dear Mr. Sperling,
Hi, I'm Alex Hawker, a senior at Laguna Blanca School. I'm
really interested in computer programming, and I have already begun
doing some work in this field - I've created an app for Android
devices (
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.velvetvoid.dungeonsneak.free&hl=en)
and a WebGL game
http://www.thefourthestate.net/owliegl/swoopgame.html). I would one
day like to work in the computer software industry, perhaps producing
video games.
I am also taking a Studies in Leadership course in which we learn
about different styles of leadership. As part of this course, we
participate in a mentorship program, which is designed to create
meaningful learning experiences for both students and mentors through
the sharing of advice, experiences, etc.
With Mr. Ary’s suggestion, I thought I would contact you
regarding a possible mentorship. I would like to discuss with you
about the computer software industry, your experiences, and any advice
you would like to share. I can meet with you either in person or over
Skype / email. I appreciate that your time is very valuable and thank
you for any assistance that you can provide. If you have any questions
about the program, you can also contact Tyler Hodges whom I have cc'ed
in this email.
Sincerely,
Alex Hawker
