Hi,

We had our first meeting of the SBOL Visual Parametric SVG Working Group. I’ve created a mailing list that includes everyone at that meeting. If you missed the meeting, but you would like to be added to the mailing list, please let me know.

Here is a summary of the items that we discussed:

1) Tom is leading a development of a parametric SVG for SBOL Visual proposal:

Tom is also working on converting all existing SBOL Visual glyphs into parametric SVG, developing a python library, and incorporating this into DNA plot lib.

2) James Scott-Brown is working on the glyph creation and validation workflow including continuous integration.

3) James McLaughlin will create a Javascript library for parametric SVG.

4) Chris will work with Ben (VisBol) and Logan (SBOLCanvas) to use parametric SVG once the Javascript library and glyphs are available.

5) Goksel will work on connecting this with the SBOL Visual Ontology.

6) Jake will work on utilizing parametric SVG in the SEP and specification processes.

7) Prashant will work on F# support and utilization in Microsoft tools.

Our next meeting will be 10am MDT on May 20th.

Cheers,
Chris
