Dear SBOL Community,
It is my great pleasure to introduce our newest editor Erik Kubaczka. Erik was elected as an editor as part of the previous election cycle and will now join the editors team. Erik is a PhD student in Heinz Koeppl's group at TU Darmstadt (Germany). As part of his PhD, Erik is developing bio design automation tools and the technology mapping framework ARCTIC, which focuses on the optimal design of genetic logic circuits. Please join me in welcoming Erik.
Erik will be replacing Tom Mitchell who has completed his term as an SBOL Editor. I want to take this opportunity to thank Tom for his immense contributions towards the SBOL community. Tom has been an active member of our community and has been instrumental in developing tools like
pySBOL2 and
pySBOL3 which is the cornerstone of our efforts in making the SBOL standard more accessible to the wider Synthetic Biology community. His insights, ideas, and efforts as both an editor and a member of the SBOL developer community has significantly shaped the SBOL standard and has helped us reach where we are today. Please join me in congratulating Tom for all his hard work and contributions.
Best regards,
Prashant Vaidyanathan
SBOL Chair
