SBOL Editor Election 2026 - Results

[Prashant Vaidyanathan]

Dear SBOL Community,

We are delighted to announce the results of the recent SBOL elections!

We are excited to announce that Mike Arpaia received the highest number of votes and will be joining the SBOL Editors team following the end of Georgie's term. Please join me in welcoming Mike, and I look forward to working with him as part of the editorial team!

I would also like to thank Zachary Hastings for standing in the election. Zachary is a great candidate, and I hope to see Zachary stand again in a future election and continue to contribute to the SBOL community.

Finally, I want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Georgie Hau Sørensen for all of her contributions to SBOL during her time as an editor. Georgie has worked incredibly hard on SBOL's outreach efforts and has been a key liaison between SBOL and the iGEM community. She has also represented SBOL at numerous venues through talks, tutorials, and workshops, helping to bring SBOL to new audiences and support its adoption.

Georgie has been a fantastic member of the SBOL community, and we are very grateful for all the time and effort she has put into the community and the Editors team. Please join me in thanking her for everything she has done! I look forward to her continued involvement with SBOL.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the election.

Congratulations again to Mike!

Best regards,

Prashant Vaidyanathan
