SEP 57 and SEP 58 Approved

August 09, 2023   Dear SBOL Community,   We are pleased to announce that SEP 57 and SEP 58 have been approved unanimously. These SEPs propose new features and improvements for the SBOL standard, such as the capability of adding new SBOL ontology terms to best practices in a child namespace and tracking the relationship between the canonical name for a part (or another object) and a set of aliases that can be used to redirect to it from other identities.   You can find more details about these SEPs here:   SEP 057 -- Best practices modifications on the SBOL specification   SEP 058 -- Aliases   We thank the authors and contributors of these SEPs for their valuable work and feedback.
