Hi everyone,
It has been a while since I last wrote to this group, and I am glad to be getting back in touch and share some major updates we have been working on.
We have redesigned the SBOL website (
https://sbolstandard.org). The goal was simple: make SBOL easier to explore and make it easier to find what you actually need. We have refreshed the library, applications, and other pages, and we have built clear starting points depending on who you are. If you are a biologist,
start here. If you are a developer,
start here. And if you want to get involved in the community, we would love to
have you.
Alongside the new site, we are launching a few things I am excited about:
The
SBOL Blog, a space for developers, researchers, and users to share insights, tutorials, tools, and perspectives. Whether you are building a library, publishing a workflow, or exploring SBOL for the first time, this is a place to connect and learn from each other. More posts from across the community are on the way.
The
SBOL Visual Gallery, showcasing strong examples of SBOL Visual pulled from presentations and papers.
An
Announcements page, your one place for major SBOL news, conferences, and events.
We are also launching SBOLinside in the next few days. It is a video podcast that shares the inside story of our work on SBOL, with interviews across the community. We will also talk about what we are working on now and how you can get involved.
Finally, we have revamped our LinkedIn page (
https://www.linkedin.com/company/sbol/). If you are a current or past SBOL member (Chairs, Editors, Steering Committee), it would mean a lot if you added SBOL to your affiliations. We will be posting updates there too, so please give us a follow.
Take a look around the new site and tell us what you think. There is a lot more to come.
Best,
Prashant Vaidyanathan
