I've been really busy this week in finishing the 2nd beta version of the
Salsa Beat Machine.

It's finally out, with a brand new user interface, heavily inspired by
suggestions from the mailing list users, especially Alex and Tom's
suggestions and idea.

It's available for download here:

http://www.SalsaBeatMachine.org/licensed/SalsaBeatMachine-iPhone-r5427.zip

The installation instructions are the same as the previous beta version.

There are still some known open issues with the GUI:
1. No way to control individual instrument's volume
2. The timing of the beat indicator (white dots) is not very accurate
3. Double-clicking on an instrument deactivates it, I think this is not
very intuitive...

Apart from that, I'm pretty happy with the new UI - think it's much
better than the Beta-1 UI.

As usual, leave your feedback here, in this google group, and we will
discuss it.
Hopefully the next version will the the last beta, and maybe we can have
the final release in the appstore within two weeks...

Best regards,
Looking forward to hearing your feedback,
Uri

Oh. I'd still like to see something a bit more polished for
instruments that are off. The grey fill just seems so... "beta" to me.

What do you guys think?

- Single tap to select an instrument, does not active/deactive
- Double tap will turn the instrument on or off (switch its state), and
also select it.

Do you think it'll be more intuitive than one tap to select & activate
an instrument, and double tap to deactivate it ?

Any ideas what you would like to see instead ?
