It's award season, and I'm proud to announce that your friendly local
neighborhood nonprofit bicycle collective (phew -- try saying that
fast) held its own pretty well, and we're celebrating by adding some
new hours!
First off, the Sacramento Bicycle Kitchen won the Local Vision award
from the California Chapter of the American Planning Association!
Hot on the heels of that win, we were also proud to accept an award at
the Sacramento Magazine Best Of Sacramento award show. That's right,
according to the wonderful folks at Sac Mag, SBK is Sacramento's Best
Kitchen Without a Chef!
Finally, the new hours: With all this acclaim, we figured we should
expand our shop hours to prepare for next year's awards. So, we're
happy to announce that our SBKids program is lifting off. Starting
this Friday, November 20th, the shop will be open on Fridays from 6pm
to 8pm. These will be family-friendly hours, so bring your kids to
help them learn how to work on their bikes! Families and teenagers
are welcome, and if you want to lend a hand, contact Emjay at
em...@sacbikekitchen.org!
Thanks for your support, and we're looking forward to big new plans
next month!
