I looked outside.
It wasn't burning.
I took a breath.
I didn't cough.
I am happy. :)
So KEYT's 11am report says they're still doing clearing fires out in the wilds, and that's expected to raise the total burned area and crown Thomas as the largest fire in CA history. Dubious honor, to say the least. You can see the relatively modest smoke plume from that, starting top-left in this 2:23pm pic from Broadcast Peak looking East.

There's no bright white fire detection in this 1:30pm GOES low-resolution InfraRed fire detection image, but a large area of low-intensity heat detections (gray boxes) and a smaller area in Northern Kern County. That one in Kern was a small hotter spot half an hour earlier, but maybe it's a controlled burn or air resources from here nipped over and knocked it down.
