Thursday 7/27 we got a chance to fly around and high over the Whittier Fire burn area. It was surprising how many un-burned patches there are inside the fire perimeter. Canyons in particular were often spared, and that will help to control runoff in heavy rains before vegetation has re-grown. Here are some of the pix we got, and if you have questions either add a Comment here or on Edhat if they post the pix I sent them.
The sequence of these pix is across the ridge at the East end of the burned area, over to Lake Cachuma and West to that end, crossing South and then East to circumnavigate the burn. If I see many views here indicating interest, maybe I'll post some descriptions here and/or in Edhat comments. It was sure interesting for us, and hopefully anyone else curious how it looks up there will enjoy these pix.
