One of my favorite things to build are synthesizers.  Here is a photo of the last one I built.  Everything in this I did myself (well, at least the design, PCBs and Front Panels I sent out to be done).  A proximately about 500 hours of work.

The synth has 3 VCOs with a tuning range of about 6 decades.  It can tune over 8 octaves starting at C0 to within 1 cent.
It also has 3 VCFs, 2 ADSR envelope generators, 3 diode function shapers, 32 bit noise generator, 3 Gain/Offset CV modifiers, 2 VCA, 2 4 input mixers, and a Midi Interface with START, STOP, RESET, GATE, PITCH, VELOCITY outputs.
There are also a collection of logic circuits (Adders, Flip Flops, Registers, Decoders, Multiplexors, etc for creating sequences.
